Matthew developed an interest in human movement studies and anatomy during school and began working as an assistant at a private practice, looking to gain an insight into the world of Allied Health. He studied Human Movement Science for 1 year before realising that it wasn’t where his passion belonged. He then transferred into Physiotherapy at the University of Queensland, graduating with first class honours.
When Nigel and Scott, the Directors of The Headache Neck and Jaw Clinic came to run a practical education session on Physiotherapy for the Jaw, Matthew’s interest in the area began. Throughout the rest of his degree he enjoyed the complexity and challenge associated with headaches, and conditions of the neck and jaw.
Having been a sufferer of these conditions himself, he understands the value of a clinician who can help and aims to provide an excellent level of care to his patients.
With Matthew’s experience of tutoring Physiotherapy students in anatomy and Physiotherapy subjects, he enjoys educating his patients and ensuring they have a level of understanding to help them be a part of the decision-making process. In order to further his skill set in treating headaches, Matthew has completed Watson Headache® Institute Level 1 Foundation and Level 2 Consolidation Course.
