Megan van Selm

With over 25 years of international clinical experience in Australia, England and South Africa, Megan van Selm has developed a strong background in manual therapy and chronic pain management, and a passion for treating headaches, neck and jaw pain. 

Megan has recently returned to Perth, after spending a year in Brisbane undergoing intense clinical training in Migraine and TMD management. Prior to that, Megan directed her own private practice in Perth’s northern suburbs, and was an integral member of the School of Physiotherapy at the University of Notre Dame, Fremantle, lecturing and tutoring within the musculoskeletal stream for 10 years. This experience has enabled Megan to hone her ability to educate patients effectively regarding their conditions, something that she feels is imperative to offering comprehensive physiotherapy service. She takes pride in integrating manual therapy, targeted exercise prescription, and patient education to achieve optimal outcomes. 

Megan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiotherapy (Honours) from the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa, a Graduate Certificate in Orthopaedic Manual Therapy (with Distinction) from Curtin University of Technology, and a Master of Philosophy (M. Phil) from the School of Physiotherapy at the University of Notre Dame. Her MPhil. thesis and clinical study explored pain modulating factors, in particular, the concept of Visual Analgesia on experimental, deep tissue pain. This research culminated in her journal article being published in the European Journal of Pain. 

Megan has completed the Level 1 and Level 2 Watson Headache® Institute Courses.
