Michael is a musculoskeletal physiotherapist originally from Vancouver, Canada. He obtained his Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of British Columbia in 2015. After working and travelling for 2 years he moved over to Brisbane in late 2017 to pursue a post-graduate physiotherapy degree from the University of Queensland.

He is a believer in life-long learning, and will continue to delve into the latest research, listen to podcasts, and take professional development courses through his development as a clinician. He has undergone further training in clinical pilates, dry needling/acupuncture, and is qualified in the Watson Headache® Institute Level 1 Foundation Course.

Michael joined the HNJ team in 2021 to further expand on his clinical skills and knowledge base.In clinic he uses a combination of hands-on treatment, exercise, and most importantly patient education. In the long-term, Michael believes patient self-management is key, achieved through the development of habits and behaviours discussed collaboratively with his patients.

In his time away from clinic Michael enjoys getting outdoors to the beach or mountains, checking out museums, restaurants, and catching up with friends (or a combination of those). Michael loves travelling and has visited many countries and will continue to do so. He also dabbles with a bit of photography for the creative side of things. Michael lives an active lifestyle and likes to try all different types of exercises. Just like how eating a variety of different foods is important in a healthy diet, getting different forms of exercise is also key! He could talk to you all day about:

  • travel and culture
  • health and wellness
  • magnets, how do they work?
